Net Communications Events One of the largest primary schools in the country, St. Aidan's in Enniscorthy, hosted circa 30 teachers and
principals from Wexford, Wicklow, Waterford, Kilkenny and Dublin yesterday evening for a very special event: Apple in Action at St. Aidan's. Principal Peter Creedon and 15 enthusiastic students showcased their pioneering use of Apple technology in the classroom. Apple iPads and iPod touches are used daily in 12 classrooms at the 850 student school. These handheld, touch-screen devices have educational software applications 'apps' on them and access to a secure internet connection meaning they are a limitless source of information and learning. The iPads are proving an indispensable tool for children with special needs due to their intuitive use and features. Also in attendance were senior members of the Apple Ireland team and the Net Communications experts who provided advice and insider knowledge on the solutions to the inquisitive audience.
